Dunham Massey

The former home of the Grey family, Earls of Stamford, just off the A56 south of Altrincham.

The carved stone portico entrance to Dunham Massey

Records of Dunham Massey date back to 1362. The house that stands today was largely rebuilt in the Georgian period, and it was the family home of the Grey family, Earls of Stamford. It was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976, along with its deer park and gardens.
