Questions about a photograph, a correction, or permission to reuse something? Here is how to get in touch and what to include.

Email

The address used for this archive is missingbits@phillrawlins.com. It is the same address the original site used for reports of missing pages, which still fits: if a photograph fails to load, or a caption is wrong, this is where to send it.

Please put the page name in the subject line — for example “concorde.html — caption query” — so it can be matched up quickly.

What to include

  • A link or page name. Every page has a short name such as msccpic.html. That plus the photograph caption is enough to find it.
  • What you would like. A correction, a copy of a file, permission to reproduce, or simply a question about the subject.
  • Context for reuse requests. Where the image would appear, in what medium, and whether it is commercial. Requests that explain this get answered faster.

Common requests

Using a photograph

Photographs remain the copyright of Phill Rawlins. Personal use, student projects and non-commercial websites are usually fine with a credit and a link; commercial use needs a proper conversation. More on copyright.

Reporting a missing photograph

A handful of images referenced by the original 2003 site were never captured by the Internet Archive and no longer exist anywhere online. The pages affected say so in a short note rather than showing a broken image. If you happen to hold a copy of any of them, that would be genuinely useful — the ones still missing include the Barton Aerodrome tower photographs, the Lowry Centre and Centenary Bridge shots from Around Manchester, and the three Concorde sound recordings from the Concorde page.

Corrections

Registrations, dates and aircraft types were written from notes made at the time and are not always right. If you know better, say so and the page will be corrected and noted.

What this site cannot help with

This is a personal photographic archive, not an official source. It cannot assist with airport operations, aircraft ownership records, police enquiries, or anything requiring live data. For those, the relevant organisation is the right place to ask.

No contact form. This is a static site with no server behind it, so there is nothing to submit a form to. Email is the only route, and it is the one that works.
